2nd Thanksgiving

Our second Thanksgiving was spent at my dad's house. Don't worry...we had a day of rest in between the two meals:)

Paul and Scooby contemplating just how much they plan on eating.

Dad is working on the mashed taters but is not allowed to touch the milk or salt and pepper!
Willie is carving the turkey.
After all that work, MawMaw needed a good ole back massage which Cooper was more than happy to give her.

Thanksgiving Day

We spent Thanksgiving Day at my mom's this year. She recently had knee surgery and enlisted everyone's help to accomplish the feat of preparing the meal. We all enjoyed putting in our own little touches.
This is a picture of my brother and sister, Randall and Pamala. I finally snapped a picture of Randall who always dodges cameras.

Scooter was definitely right in the middle of all the excitement.

Willie doing what he does best...dishes.

Carl cleaning every single piece of meat he can off the bird.

Nana and Coop putting Nana's Christmas village together. He thought this was really cool.

Cooper's Thanksgiving Program

Cooper had his Thanksgiving program and did a terrific job! He remembered his part but was pretty quiet about it.

They sang many songs and read some cute poems.

You have to watch the next video to see what all the kids are thankful for. Cooper says "my family" while another child has a whole list of things I'm sure you'll find as amuzing as we did.

Native American Reading Week

This week was National Reading Week and our theme at school was Native Americans. I made simple costumes for both Cooper and I.

My class is so fun! We made Native American vests and headbands for the assembly.

Karyn Walker, Jaylene Strode, Me, Schonna Lesher, and Devon (Schonna's daughter)

I have to brag on my grade level this year. They are a true dream to work with everyday. We all pitch in to get things done and we all participate together, as a group. It's a wonderful feeling to know I work with three amazing teachers who are always there to lift me up.

Dog Park

We've found a new fun thing to do on the weekend's, especially when Eric comes to visit. It's called: The Dog Park. We've been taking the furry kiddos to the dog park pretty frequently to get their energy out of them. Wesson, believe it or not, does really well. He runs and plays with the other dogs. Chester does pretty good. He got upset this last time because Wesson was playing with another dog and getting pretty rough so Chester stepped in. We had to keep him on a leash just so Wesson could play with other dogs. He's a "Mr. Bossy Pants." Duke and Izzy do great. It's nice because Izzy is finally warming up to me. Today she sat by me and let me pet her. She even wanted me to shake:) We met my friend Jaylene and her husband Jake there with their two dogs, Gunner and Tucker. Gunner kept wanting Chester to play with him but he wasn't interested while Tucker found something good to role in.

It truly is a unique experience going to the dog park. If you haven't gone, I would highly suggest it just to see what all goes on. It's a great "people watching" experience. The dogs are just like kids, some just don't play well with others.
